The first aircraft in the world with swept wings: a prototype of the Junkers 287 flew for the first time in 1944. The idea of swept-forward wings was not taken up again until recently. This model is shown in the wind tunnel of the Aerodynamic Research Institute (Aerodynamische Versuchsanstalt; AVA) in Göttingen.
