Department Configuration Design
Department Configuration Design
The field of investigation of the department Configuration Design reaches from the preliminary design of complete aircraft configurations up to the detailed aerodynamic design of wings, (wind-) rotors and airfoils. A special emphasis is laid on research and development of laminar flow wings.

Current areas of work:

Preliminary design of complete aircraft configurations

Detailed aerodynamic design

  • Layout of wind-rotors
  • Management of the 3FF-project
  • Contributions to the M-DAW-project

Laminar flow control

  • Measurement of Tollmien-Schlichting-waves
  • Measurement of laminar flow by using thermography
  • Contributions to the ALTTA-project
  • Contributions to the HYLTEC-project
  • Contributions to the HiAer-project
