The department transport aircraft accomplishes the numerical and experimental aerodynamical analysis of modern commercial- and transport-aircraft. The aim is the analysis and optimization of complex and complete aircraft-configurations with the main focus on high-lift systems.
The field of investigation reaches from the preliminary design of complete aircraft configurations up to the detailed aerodynamic design of wings, (wind-) rotors and airfoils. A special emphasis is laid on research and development of laminar flow wings.
Current areas of work:
Preliminary design of complete aircraft configurations
Detailed aerodynamic design
- Layout of wind-rotors
- Management of the 3FF-project
- Contributions to the M-DAW-project
Laminar flow control
Measurement of Tollmien-Schlichting-waves
Measurement of laminar flow by using thermography
Contributions to the ALTTA-project
Contributions to the HYLTEC-project
Contributions to the HiAer-project
