Within the German national project MEGADESIGN of the 3. aviation research program, 11 partners jointly aim at realizing the potential of numerical optimization for aerodynamic and multidisciplinary design of aircraft in industrial applications. The partners come from aircraft industry, research establishments and universities and are lead-managed by the DLR. Additionally MEGADESIGN is backed by the complementary DLR internal project MegaOpt on design optimization. Both projects deal during a four years term with "Aerodynamic Simulation and Optimization in Aircraft Design".
The work which has been carried out during the first half of the projects and the related results are presented on November, 29-30, 2005 (Tuesday / Wednesday) at the 2nd Annual Project Workshop MEGADESIGN by the partners of MEGADESIGN and colleagues from MegaOpt. The workshop will take place in the Herrmann-Blenk-Saal, DLR Braunschweig. Further details are given in the agenda below.
