The department Numerical Methods is involved in BMBF-funded project GASPI in the field of high-performance computing. The aim of the project is to develop a high-performance library for unilateral and asynchronous communication on the basis of the Fraunhofer PGAS API.
In this project, the communication in TRACE is ported on the basis of the GASPI API standard, developed in this project. Thus, the scalability for many thousands of cores will be improved. At the same time an overlap of calculation and communication (asynchronous) is possible, which has a greater potential for performance optimization on many cores.
