Coatings
Ceramic coatings are capable to increase the thermo-chemical and abrasive resistance of C/C-SiC components significantly. Therefore a special coating technique was developed which is fully integrated in the CMC manufacturing process. The so called SiCralee coating is applied in order to enhance the tribology properties of C/C-SiC brake disks. Furthermore, comprehensive scientific work was performed to develop oxidation protection coatings (CVD-SiC, LPPS-yttrium silicate) for thermal protection systems and first efforts about plasma sprayed B

C- and cordierite coatings were made as well.
