The DLR Magazine now also for your tablet

The DLR Magazine is the most important printed media in DLR’s communication portfolio. In spite of this, or rather, especially because of this, it is now available for tablets such as the iPad and devices running the Android operating system.

Like its printed magazine counterpart, the tablet edition is an example of timely scientific communication. News, commentaries, interviews and live reports complement articles written by DLR researchers, and are edited by a professional editorial team.

From now on, six times a year – four times in German and twice in English – the DLR Magazine will be available at the iTunes Newsstand and at Google Play – free of charge, of course.

The magazine app focuses on multimedia added value – video, audio and brilliant images supplement the traditional text and photographs, with great emphasis being placed on an intuitive user interface, ease of reading and visual similarity with the printed magazine. ‘Ease of reading’ does however prompt our decision not to make this magazine app available on smartphones. These devices would simply be unable to do justice to the contents.

We are also planning further development of this app. For example, in the medium term, plans include integration of the news content currently published on the – albeit somewhat dated – DLR iOS app.

Enjoy discovering the DLR Magazine for tablets – kicking off with edition 134-135 that you can download here: iTunesGoogle Play.
