SOFIA – up close and spectacular!

In spite of the weather, a permanent grey cloud hovering over our heads, German Aerospace Day is off to a very promising start. At the Spacetweetup tent we were welcomed by Marco Trovatello (DLR) and Fulvio Drigani (ESA). The first European Space Tweetup had officially begun and we were told to be shareful! read more

The tension builds up – SOFIA to land at Cologne-Bonn Airport on Saturday at 06:50

SOFIA (Stratosphären-Observatorium für Infrarot-Astronomie)

The airborne observatory SOFIA will arrive at Cologne-Bonn Airport on Saturday 17 September 2011 at about 06:50 CEST. The aircraft will be one of the attractions during German Aerospace Day, which takes place on the following day. The flight from the United States to Germany can be followed live online from 19:10 CEST – learn how in this blog post. read more

On Sunday, 18 September 2011, DLR German Aerospace Center will, for the 11th time, host the German Aerospace Day event. In this blog, the DLR Online Communications team will keep you posted on the last news regarding German Aerospace Day and the first european SpaceTweetup - in german and english language.
