Jan Wörner

Johann-Dietrich Wörner was born in Kassel in 1954. He has been Chairman of the Executive Board of the German Aerospace Center since 1 March 2007.

Wörner studied civil engineering at the Technische Universität Berlin and the Technische Hochschule Darmstadt, from where he graduated in 1985. In 1982, as part of his studies, he spent two years in Japan, investigating earthquake safety. Until 1990 Wörner worked for the consulting civil engineers König und Heunisch. In 1990 he returned to Darmstadt University, where he was appointed to a professorship in Civil Engineering and took over as Head of the Testing and Research Institute. Before being elected President of the Technische Universität Darmstadt in 1995, he held the position of Dean of the Civil Engineering Faculty.

MAKS in Moskau

Mein letzter Blogeintrag behandelte die Ereignisse in Le Bourget. Seit dem ist viel geschehen, was auf der neu gestalteten Homepage des DLR verfolgt werde konnte. Die letzte Woche stand ganz im Zeichen der MAKS in Moskau, neben Le Bourget (Paris) und der ILA in Berlin die dritte internationale Messe der internationalen Luft- und Raumfahrt, auf der das DLR sich präsentiert. Wie in Le Bourget konnten wir auch die MAKS zu vielen interessanten und wichtigen Gesprächen nutzen. read more

MAKS in Moscow

A great deal has happened since DLR’s participation in the Aerospace trade show at Le Bourget in June, and it can all be followed on the recently revamped DLR homepage. Last week’s events mainly focused on the MAKS Aviation and Space Salon in Moscow, the third trade fair for the international aerospace industry, where DLR has been showcasing its work, following its appearances at Le Bourget (Paris) and ILA in Berlin. Just as at the Le Bourget trade fair, at MAKS we were once again able to engage in many interesting and important talks. read more
