Job Market
The German Remote Sensing Data Center conducts research in close cooperation with German universities. Diploma and doctoral candidates as well as post-doctoral scientists can participate in projects at DFD in Oberpfaffenhofen and Neustrelitz, as well as at Würzburg University, where a joint professorship in remote sensing has been established at that University's Department of Geography.
Internships
Send us an application, keeping in mind that:
- you should have already successfully earned an intermediate diploma;
- you should be willing to join us for at least six weeks;
- you will work on ongoing projects;
- you should let us know in your application when you would be available, your expertise and your areas of interest.
Diploma Theses
An internship is the usual precondition for work on a diploma thesis at DFD. The specific topic must complement current DFD ongoing research activities.
Appropriate branches of study in the sciences are, for example, geography, geology, geophysics, cartography, physics, meteorology, mathematics, and informatics. Technical media expertise is additionally required for work in the area of visualization of scientific results
Doctoral Candidates
A limited number of scholarships are available to doctoral candidates under the DLR guidelines for assisting doctorates. The completion of a diploma thesis at DFD is the usual precondition.
Remote Sensing Team at Würzburg University
DFD is associated with the remote sensing professorship at Würzburg University's department of Geography. In addition to the study of geography, research assistantships are available for work on a diploma or doctoral thesis, or as a junior scientist.
