Johann-Dietrich Wörner was born in Kassel in 1954. He has been Chairman of the Executive Board of the German Aerospace Center (DLR) since March 1st, 2007.
Klaus Hamacher, Vice Chairman of the Executive Board, is the DLR Executive Board member responsible for administrative and technical management, including personnel, finance, corporate controlling, corporate organisation, quality and product assurance, auditing, joint ventures, large-scale projects and career management. He is also responsible for DLR's Technology Marketing and serves as the representative for the DLR site in Berlin.
Since 1 April 2011, Gerd Gruppe is Member of the DLR Executive Board, responsible for the German Space Administration. Born in 1952, he grew up near Aachen in the very Western part of Germany.
Rolf Henke joined the DLR Executive Board on 1 November 2010 and is responsible for Aeronautics research.
Hansjörg Dittus was appointed as DLR Executive Board Member for Space Research and Technology on 1 October 2011.
Ulrich Wagner was appointed the Director of Energy and Transport for the DLR Management Board on 1 March 2010.
