At German Aerospace Day 2009 in Cologne, visiting aircraft included an Airbus A380 and DLR's A320 ATRA (Advanced Technology Research Aircraft) research plane. The aircraft are parked on 'Zulu stand', part of Cologne-Bonn Airport, which is adjacent to the DLR site.
The German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt; DLR) and the European Space Agency (ESA) are inviting 60 Twitter followers to the first joint European Space Tweetup as part of German Aerospace Day, on 18 September in Cologne, Germany.
A Tweetup is an informal, educational gathering of people who use the social messaging medium Twitter. The first joint DLR/ESA Space Tweetup will be an opportunity to learn more about the two agencies and their activities.
German Aerospace Day takes place every two years at the Cologne/Porz establishment shared by DLR, ESA’s European Astronaut Centre (EAC) and partners Cologne Bonn Airport and the German Air Force. For the first time, this year’s event will feature a variety of attractions with exclusive access for DLR and ESA Twitter followers.
Items on the Space Tweetup programme will include:
The Space Tweetup will take place in a dedicated Tweetup tent located near the European Astronaut Centre, providing participants with workspace, free broadband Wi-Fi access and catering.
