Selection tests for pilots, air traffic controllers, and astronauts
In aviation, selection and training are factors of special importance because these tasks are both highly specialised and minimally fault-tolerant. Although increasingly supported by computers, the human operator will still be at the centre of all aerospace activities in the future.

In aviation, selection and training are factors of special importance because these tasks are both highly specialised and minimally fault-tolerant. Although increasingly supported by computers, the human operator will still be at the centre of all aerospace activities in the future. The aerospace psychology department of the DLR Institute of Aerospace Medicine is responsible for the selection of pilots, air traffic controllers, and astronauts.
At the ILA, we are presenting a sample of personnel selection tests at which visitors may try their hand.
