The Institute of Flight Systems in Braunschweig, Germany performs research with a variety of unmanned aircraft, ranging helicopters of rotor diameters between 90 cm and 3 m and fixed-wing aircraft. A key element of flight-control at the limit of their flight envelope is knowledge about the flight models. In the field of automatic system identification the department of unmanned aircraft offers a variety of different tasks. These tasks include algorithm development, e.g. of neural network based models, parametric models, continuous model improvement and signal processing. Furthermore tasks can be offered concerning implementation for flight tests, e.g. data mining algorithms and data structures.
