In the framework of the EU Copernicus Sentinel-5 Precursor (S5P) and Sentinel-4 (S4) missions, DLR’s Remote Sensing Technology Institute plays a leading role in the development of processing systems and algorithms for the accurate determination of ozone, other minor trace gases (e.g. nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide, formaldehyde, glyoxal), aerosol and cloud properties. These algorithms are used operationally in near-real-time and off-line processing environments.
The work is carried out in close cooperation with national and international partners.
