Your mission:

Guardian Angels are the result of our imagination. The idea of having someone looking after us is comforting. Yet, the figure of a Guardian Angel is just that: an idea.

We believe that we can change that and make Guardian Angels come true. We want to develop a system, a Guardian Angel, to look after vulnerable road users (VRUs) in urban environments. A VRU can be a pedestrian, a cyclist or a motor-bike rider. Our Guardian Angel will have awareness of the VRUs and cars in urban scenarios. Moreover, our Guardian Angel will be able to predict risky situations and warn the VRUs and cars involved in such situations.

The technologies for the localization of VRUs and cars, as well as those for the communication between these users are under development. In order to make the Guardian Angel com true; software to visualize all the users in urban environments is required.

The main goal of this internship/working student job is to implement a graphical user interface (GUI) to visualize the different users in an urban environment. The program should decode messages from different users, e.g. cars, pedestrians or bicyclists. Then, the information about the users should be plotted on a map. The program developed must be tested to prove its funcionality.

Your qualifications:

  • excellent knowledge of Java
  • independent working
