Your mission:

Bistatic SAR offers increased performance when compared to monostatic SAR. Among the many operational difficulties of bistatic SAR, data calibration and processing stands as one of the most challenging. In particular, accurate calibration of bistatic SAR systems requires the development of new processing estimation strategies, which demand a robust understanding of the transmitting and receiving systems. In the framework of an innovative polarimetric, interferometric bistatic SAR campaign with the satellite constellation TanDEM-X and DLR's airborne F-SAR, the candidate will be working with real data developing a new processing chain to compute accurate calibrated bistatic SAR images. The candidate will be asked to assess the efficiency and quality of the developed algorithms. Further image evaluation and interpretation might also be possible within the framework of the work.
