DLR has developed a unique tunnel simulator in Göttingen to test the aerodynamics of future train designs. Models at scales 1:25 and 1:100 are fired down the tunnel at 400 kilometres per hour. The picture shows a model of the DLR Next Generation Train at 1:25 scale in the cryogenic wind tunnel at Cologne.
