Prof. Dr Thomas Strang is the RCAS project leader. RCAS brings together several different technologies. An ultra-precise satellite navigation system is employed together with other sensors, such as optical systems. This photograph shows a special-purpose camera mounted on the test train – the position of a train can be established with an accuracy of less than two metres.
