Scientists have now been able to apply research results obtained in the 10-kilowatt power range successfully in a 100-kilowatt pilot plant. The reactor technology for the plant was developed by DLR. The reactor is heated to 800 to 1 200 degrees Celsius by concentrated solar radiation. These temperatures then allow hydrogen to be extracted from water.
