At Braunschweig Airport on 25 July 2009, the German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt; DLR) Institute of Flight Guidance (Institut für Flugführung) brought an experimental Ground Based Augmentation System (GBAS) station for approach guidance into operation.
