The supply of renewable energy is essentially determined by the weather and the climate. This intersection between energy and meteorology is where the interdisciplinary field of energy meteorology comes into its own. It covers topics such as translating meteorological data into parameters that are relevant to the energy industry, in order to help energy suppliers plan the operation of their plants.
