Just like parabolic trough power plants, solar tower power plants concentrate sunlight to generate electricity. But in contrast to parabolic trough generators, which have been generating electricity in California for more than 30 years now, solar towers power plants are a relatively new form of power station. The first commercial installations are already in operation in Seville, Spain (PS 10 and PS 20).
