During a flight on 1 May 2010, the particle-measuring device, from the DLR Institute for Atmospheric Physics and the Laboratoire de Météorologie Physique at Blaise Pascal University in Clermont-Ferrand (France), detected small concentrations of large particles measuring 3-800 micrometres.
