The ARTIS (Autonomous Rotorcraft Testbed for Intelligent Systems) unmanned research helicopter at the DLR stand in Hall 9 of ILA 2008.
Artis is deployed as an R&D project and technology demonstrator. It has two on-board computers with sensors, which enable it to automatically navigate using image-processing and collision avoidance techniques. In addition, the helicopter can carry out missions from take-off to landing automatically. Joystick control and voice activation facilitate use.
