The ceramic matrix composite nose cap for Earth atmosphere re-entry vehicles developed at the German Aerospace Center, DLR. EXPERT’s nose cap (European eXPErimental Reentry Testbed), was on display in the space pavilion of ILA, the Berlin air show. As a central component of EXPERT, a European experimental re-entry vehicle, the nose cap’s integrated measuring instruments will collect important data during the Earth atmosphere re-entry phase of its flight.
