Video: DLR Parabolic flights - Research under microgravity (MPEG-4, 320 x 240)
Parabolic flights were originally used for weightless training by astronauts. Today, they are used mainly for scientific experiments while weightless (microgravity) and for testing space technologies. DLR's parabolic flights usually consist of three flight days of three to four flying hours each; on each day, 31 parabolas are flown. Altogether, each annual campaign provides some 35 minutes of microgravity.
