The construction of the ISS as an interactive animation

20 February 2008

Interactive DLR animation about the construction of the ISS. Credit: DLR.

The International Space Station (ISS) is the largest technology project of all time: an outpost of humanity in space. The European Columbus module is the newest section of the space station. Even with Columbus attached, the ISS is still not finished with yet further elements due to be added.

Follow the development as it began and continues - see our interactive animation of the construction of the International Space Station.

Click on the image and the special DLR animation will begin in a new window. In the interactive animation, three viewpoints from two different camera angles are yours to try out. In the "ISS structure" section you can see a timeline of the developing space station. By clicking individual modules, you can see more detailed views.
