Virtual flight on a robotic arm
Swooping dives, steep climbs and manoeuvres that turn the occupants upside down – the DLR Robot Motion Simulator allows Andreas Knoblach to fly over the Alps like a pilot in a light aircraft. During the virtual flight, the pilot feels all the forces that would act on him during an actual flight. But a new 'cockpit' is now extending the simulator's possibilities even further – even fast turns are possible now.
