The cooperation with the commercial company EUSI has been established in 2002, and successfully effected in the IKONOS Regional Operations Center since that time. The recently installed component grants DFD direct access to high resolution, 8-band data from WorldView-2.The antenna-hardware arrived at Oberpfaffenhofen on Monday, March 1st., and was subsequently assembled by personnel of both the manufactory ViaSat and DFD staff. In parallel the technical infrastructure on top of the freshly renovated building 122 was prepared for the mounting. On Thursday, March 4th everything was ready for the final step. By means of a telescope-crane the units were lifted to the roof of the building, where the complete installation was carried out.The next steps comprise testing of the antenna and integration with the EDAF system of the system-provider MacDonald Dettwiller MDA and DigitalGlobe, the owner and operator of the satellite. First data acquisition tests are scheduled for Monday, March 8th.
