Team: Spectrometry

One of the priorities reflecting the systems competence of this group is in the fields of Fourier transform spectrometry (remote sensing methodologies and high resolution laboratory spectroscopy) and heterodyne spectrometry. The spectral range covered extends from mid- to near-infrared (wavelengths of 3-100 µm).

The second main emphasis includes the development, application, assessment and validation of infrared signature models for 3D simulations of air and surface vehicles in their operational environment.

This group contributes to atmosphere and environmental research and to defense and security technology in the following fields:

  • Expanding the database for atmospheric trace gases,
  • Measurement and analysis of atmospheric trace gases using remote sensing measurement methodologies,
  • Calibration and validation of spectroscopic remote sensing systems,
  • Simulation and measurement of infrared signatures of scenes containing man-made and natural objects.
