Flight Test

The Flight Test Team of the DLR Flight Department in Braunschweig consists of flight test engineers and pilots.

Staff:

• Five fixed wing pilots
• Two rotary wing pilots
• Two flight test engineers

All pilots are holding a degree in engineering. Six of them are qualified test pilots. The flight test engineers graduated from a test pilots’ school respectively.

In general, the crew are tasked to prepare, run and analyse trials and survey flights worldwide.

The staff is also involved in certifying aircraft modifications within the Design Organisation of the DLR.
