EUFAR starts Funding of Transnational Access to European Research Aircraft
Within EUFAR researchers from European countries which do not operate similar infrastructures can apply for funding of flight hours. EUFAR is an Integrated Infrastructure Initiative that brings together 28 leading European institutions and companies involved in airborne research. A total amount of 450 flight hours will be funded by EUFAR, corresponding to about 44 user groups each flying 10-flight-hour projects. Access is offered to 23 instrumented aircraft ranging from an ultra-light aircraft to a 4 turbo-jets aircraft. DLR participates with its two research aircraft Falcon 20 and Cessna 208. Proposals can be submitted until 31st of December, 2007.
