Modifications



The DLR Falcon 20 is a unique research aircraft due to its numerous modifications and sensor equpment. The modifications are continously adapted to the demand of science.

Noseboom with flow angle sensor (CFK 1.8 m length)
Two coverable large openings in the bottom fuselage (515 mm diameter)
One hard point under the fuselage
Large opening at the left side of fuselage (250 mm x 570 mm)
Meteorological sensor package (temperature, pressure, humidity, wind)
Hard point for radiometer installation
Multiple temperature sensors and inlets for standard semnsor package

One large opening on top of fuselage (515 mm diameter) Four openings on top of fuselage (80 mm diameter)

New generation engines with additional power generators (2 x 330 A @ 28 V)
Four hardpoints under the wings to carry up to 4 particle probes (PMS)
Universal window interface at the right side of fuselage (220 mm diameter)
