This area covers expertise, systems and test facilities necessary to investigate and enhance the arrival, ground, and departure traffic management processes.
Airspace and En-route Traffic Management
This area of experise consists of conceptual and operational know-how about the ATS from a holistic point of view including the overall flow management (CFMU) as well as the en-route traffic management.
Integrated Airport Processes
Airports, complex systems with many stakeholders, are the bottleneck of air transport system already today. To increase the efficiency and predictability of the „system airports“, all airport processes have to be optimized and integrated seamlessly.
Most processes in air transport are safety critical and need involvement of different groups of actors. This area of expertise covers expertise, methodologies and facilities to verify and validate ATM/Airports concepts, procedures, technology, tools, organisational structures and human skills for operational use...
This area of expertise comprises the operational and technical know-how about concepts, procedures and tools related to the integration of airborne and ground ATM systems. The area of expertise concerns development of new concepts and procedures to benefit from new enabling technologies that further integrate ground and airborne functions.
Air Transport Safety & Security
The Air Transport Safety & Security area of expertise deals with the analysis, development and implementation of measures to improve both air traffic safety and security with the aim of an ever increasing safety-level.
Environment and Policy Support
The Environment and Policy Support area of expertise addresses the impact of air traffic on the environment at and around airports, aiming at the reduction of noise, emissions and other third party risks due to aircraft operations.
Human Factors & Training
This area comprises expertise, methodologies and facilities about the integration of the human element in highly automated system in order to enhance safety and capacity of air transportation.
