Acquisition of capacity relevant parameters for approach control
The Flow Monitor is interfacing to the ATC computers and collects and processes all capacity relevant data such as radar, flight plan, weather and runway configuration information. Metrics like seperation, demand, flow and delay for the inbound traffic are computed in reference to the metering fixes and the runway threshold and displayed realtime to the ATC supervisor. All information is stored on disk for later statistical analysis.
This will give a longterm reference base for evaluation and assessment. By using statistical procedures combined with graphical tools the system will answer questions according to capacity improvement of new implemented systems.
