The system CALM has been developed for Zürich airport to support the controler during the scheduling and execution of aproach traffic with different runway utilization modes.
CALM planes the optimized approach order for the operated runways regarding minimized delay times for the approaching traffic. Furthermore overflight times are planned for the Initial Approach Fixes; where the extened approach base lines of runway 14/16, resp. runway threshold 28 cross.
The displayed compensatory time (acceleration or deceleration) supports the controler in maintaining the scheduled overflight times. Basis for the calculations of CALM are flight plan and radar data, air space structure data, aircraft specific performance data and weather information.
