A-SMGCS analyses

Experimental A-SMGCS on the research airport Braunschweig

Advanced Surface Movement Guidance and Control System

To enhance the safety on the ground despite increasing numbers of aircrafts,  world wide the airports, air traffic control, airlines, air-industry and research establishments are working on an automatic assistance for the surface movement controllers, A-SMGCS.

From the beginning DLR gives direction to the A-SMGCS concepts and affects the standardisation. Our experimental A-SMGCS on research airport  Braunschweig  whithin the project TARMAC was the basis for the european projects DEFAMM, BETA and EMMA. Essential contributions as management, test concepts and prototypes of subsystems are supplied. Following analyses are our area of expertise:

  • Needs assessment :
    We discover, what you need.

  • Requirements analysis :
We tell you, what is possible and what is necessary.

  • Market analysis :
We search for your optimal system.

  • Cost-value ratio :
    We find the affordable solution.

  • Benefit analysis :
    We predict the influence.
