The research alliance of DLR and NLR

In 2004, the boards of directors of the national aeronautical research establishments of Germany and the Netherlands (DLR and NLR) decided to establish an ATM research alliance by the name AT-One. On year later the cooperation started. Goal of the alliance is to join forces of the DLR Institute of Flight Guidance and the NLR Air Transport Division in the fields of ATM, namely:

  • Integrated Airport Processes,
  • Validation,
  • Air-Ground Integration,
  • Air Transport Policy,
  • Safety, security and environmental issues as well as
  • Human Factors and Training.

Harmonisation of research programs, facilities and investments enhances the competitiveness of both organisations and contributes to the expansion of AT-Ones leading position in European ATM Research.

Together, the two organisations employing over 260 highly qualified employees (scientists, technicians, engineers) offer top quality, broad ATM-related research and development as well as services. By this AT-One contributs to the improvement of both European and global ATM systems.
