Since 2003, the Institute of Flight Guidance has been certified according to the quality management standard DIN EN ISO 9001. It was the first DLR Institute in the field of aviation to achieve this certification.
The Institute's quality management system (QMS) ensures that the quality policies and quality objectives are implemented in the Institute in keeping with the requirements of this international standard. The goal is to prevent errors in all areas of service provision using corrective and preventive actions. The QMS aims to ensure that all organisational and technical processes and activities can be planned, managed and monitored in order to maintain and enhance the quality of services rendered.
The Institute continuously improves the effectiveness of the QMS in conformity with the requirements of the international ISO standard.
