SmartTruck pilot project tests innovative route planning in Berlin

The SmartTruck pilot project starts next week with two delivery vehicles fitted with dynamic route planning software operating along routes in the downtown Mitte district of Berlin for three months. The new system adapts the route regarding real-time traffic information. Deutsche Post DHL, the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology, the German Aerospace Center (DLR), the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence, Motorola and Quintiq are involved in SmartTruck. The project has been presented today in Berlin.
