From 31st March to 2nd April 2009 experts on ERTMS come together to the 2009 UIC World ERTMS Conference in Málaga. The conference takes place regularly in different locations to ensure the momentum of ERTMS towards its objective. For this purpose UIC provides a platform for infrastructure managers, train operating companies as well as researchers. In 2009, DLR participates not only with delegates, but also by presenting the railway specific laboratory RailSiTe in the connected exhibition.
RailSiTe is one of two laboratories in Europe to validate ETCS (European Train Control System) on-board equipment. The laboratory is operated independently from suppliers, railway undertakings or national authorities. Therefore it can offer a neutral platform for tests spanning different suppliers or the reference to perform interoperability and conformity tests.
