In order to allow for holistic statements on the air traffic development on different spatial levels with regard to society-relevant targets, the professional choice, update and analysis of data is mandatory. For this purpose the project MONITOR has been launched in the framework of the 7th EU Research Programme.
Fundamental objective of MONITOR is set-up of a (Meta-) data base with regard to the European and global air transport development and its parameters. The analysis of the data stored aims at the early identification of current trends and important developments of the air transport systems and their assessments. Simultaneously, the data base to be developed shall serve as scaffold for the generation of air traffic indicators and scenarios. Thus, in the scope of Monitor also an update of the scenario study „CONSAVE 2050“ is foreseen.
