Simulation and Evaluation of „Critical Parts“
10 September 2009
The project Critical Parts aims at the development of a process/technology-combination to enhance the depth and efficiency of security-checks for airport personnel. DLR support the work performed by the allied partners in a four-step approach.
- During phase one an analysis of the current process- and technology scenario is performed.
- Based on the status quo of the personnel checks, during phase two the development of an evaluation-matrix follows,
which contains the information required for an evaluation such as processing times, technologies and their functions, legal issues (protection of privacy, protection against radiation, data protection etc.) as well as costs arising from the data base use. This matrix determines the minimum requirements for future systems.
- As a third step the development of technology is iteratively examined by means of simulating the effects of the
technical parameter change on the investigation processes.
- The validation of the Demonstrator to be developed will be performed under reality conditions at Hamburg Airport during phase 4.
