CONSAVE 2050 – CONstrained Scenarios on AViation and Emissions

In the scope of the EU founded FP5 project four scenarios of global air transport development with regard to constraints - such as infrastructure, environment issues, international fragmentation, change of values – have been identified and reviewed on a European level.

These scenarios, which are based on selected IPPC SRES scenarios, have been quantified with regard to demand, supply and emissions of global air transport up to the year 2050 taking into account demographic, economic and technological developments.

The underlying scenario-taxonomy was also used in scenario studies by ACARE and EUROCONTROL. Moreover, the CONSAVE scenarios have been applied by ICAO CAEP for generating long-term projections.

The CONSAVE scenarios will be updated in the FP7 project MONITOR to support further long-term planning and strategy processes in the field of air transport.
