Total Airport Management (TAM)

7 October 2009

TAM is aiming at the optimal use of airport resources by means of enhanced coordination of the airport processes. The Airport Collaborative Decision Making (CDM) intensifying the exchange of information between the individual actors of air traffic is the basis of the TAM-concept. CDM focus on the area of flight control processes. TAM act beyond by integrative looking at the air- and ground-side airport processes in order to optimally exploit the optimisation potential by means of a holistic airport operations plan.
In a control centre (APOC) all agents of the individual subdomains such as airport, flight control, airlines etc. are cooperating on the basis of commonly agreed action targets and rules. The transparency of consequences for the action targets of the entire airport, due to decisions taken by the individual stakeholders gained in this control centre, is intended to arrive at a global optimum.
