In order to boost the DLR competence as to the integrated evaluation of overall aircraft configurations, the project „Technology Integration for the Virtual Aircraft“ (TIVA) has been founded. The project TIVA connects several institutes and disciplines and thus a common tool for aircraft pre-design has been established.
The DLR-institute Air Transport and Airport Research have developed a tool applicable in the TIVA-network for the partially automatic design of cabins and the simulation of boarding and deboarding processes under the consideration of the cabin design generated. The availability of an integrated tool for the exemplifying analysis of environment-related fees of an optional aircraft configuration based on currently applied charging models completes the toolbox.
