The DLR location in Oberpfaffenhofen is beside the location in Köln-Porz one of the largest research centers in Germany. Eight scientific institutes are located on the premises not far from the Munich-Lindau autobahn No. A96. Currently, this location holds a labour force of about 1,050 employees. This research center is focussed among others on the participation in space missions, climatology, remote data exploration of the earth, extension of navigation systems and further development of robot technology.
