Chief Technical Officer
After completing a degree in electrical engineering at TU Munich, Walter Päffgen began his career in 1987 initially as an air traffic engineer at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in Oberpfaffenhofen.
In over 21 years at DLR, he worked in a number of areas, including mission operations and business development, until he took over as director of the Galileo operations organisational unit in 2003. Over the intervening five years until the Galileo Control Center was completed this unit evolved into the present-day DLR GfR mbH, with Walter Päffgen taking over the technical management in 2008.
Chief Financial Officer
Norbert Paulmann has been Chief Financial Officer at DLR GfR mbH since January 2015 and is responsible for contract administration, controlling, procurement and human resources.
He previously worked for many years as a Consultant of various companies in the German industry and advised managers and board members in all aspects of corporate governance as well as national and international major projects. As a business economist Norbert Paulmann has many years' experience as a project manager in the software development of complex ERP systems and in Customizing for SAP systems
Authorised Officer and Head of Operations Department
Christian Arbinger has been authorised officer on the management board and head of the operations department since DLR GfR mbH was founded.
After studying aerospace engineering at TU Munich, Christian Arbinger began his career at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in Oberpfaffenhofen. At the Space Operations Center, he initially worked as a navigation engineer and flight dynamics manager for various space missions before taking over as Galileo IOV project director in 2006. In addition to his DLR GfR management role, Christian Arbinger has also held the position of lecturer at Augsburg and Aachen universities of applied science since 2004.
André Robert Bauerhin
Authorised Officer and Head of Infrastructure Department
With the founding of DLR GfR mbH in 2008, André Bauerhin took up the position of head of the infrastructure department and has also been authorised officer on the management board since that date.
After completing his degree at TU Berlin in 2003, he began his career at the German Aerospace Center (DLR), initially as an operating engineer. In 2004, he took on the additional role of Giove-B project director at the satellite control centre in Fucino, Italy. From 2006 to 2008, he was operations procurement manager on the Galileo IOV project. Since DLR GfR mbH was founded, he has been responsible for infrastructure at the Galileo Control Center, amongst other duties.
