We would like to announce the launch of the web based TanDEM-X Science Service System for user-specific experimental acquisition requests. Today on 13 July 2010, the Announcement of Opportunity (AO) for the submission of scientific proposals has been issued and will remain open until 31 October, 2010. Please note that this AO is dedicated for user-specific experimental acquisitions. The AO dedicated to the DEM products will be issued in approx. one year from now, as the first operational DEM products will be available in approx. 2.5 years from now. In the download menu on the left side you will find the operations manual of the TanDEM-X Science Service System (how to register yourself, submit proposals, etc.) as well as the TanDEM-X Science Plan (overview of the science objectives, definition of DEM and experimental products, etc.).We would like to encourage the science team submitting proposals to this AO in order to explore the unique capabilities of a single-pass interferometric and polarimetric SAR system in space. All data assigned to an approved scientific proposal for this AO will be free of charge.
